Voxel conducts extensive research and has partnerships and relationships with academic and private institutions both within Poland and abroad. All R&D and research activities conducted in the laboratories are made possible through technical capabilities, based on the availability of modern diagnostic equipment and staff, including specialists who, through their authority and enthusiasm, have been able to build a team unmatched throughout the entire medical services industry. It is also significant that most of the leading Voxel diagnostic laboratories are located near or on the premises of large clinical centres and universities, which enables close interdisciplinary cooperation and is an ideal base for doing research.
What we do
Some of the Voxel laboratories specialise in tests which are extremely complex in terms of methodology and rarely performed elsewhere, even in university diagnostic centres around the country. It is possible to perform and properly interpret them only through the presence of highly qualified medical staff, who have specialised in selected types of tests for years now and who have acquired knowledge and experience in foreign scientific centres. These include, among others, the following tests: CMR (cardiac magnetic resonance imaging), MRI examination of the prostate gland, MRI enteroclysis, MRI fistulography (classic and experimental), MRI mammography, MRI brain functional tests, CT enteroclysis, CT of ears / pyramids of temporal bones.
The right choice of tests and the appropriate methodology is crucial in any course of treatment. Hence the importance of pre-selection of patients requires much more precise and complex diagnoses and further support in selecting the appropriate laboratory and the best specialists. In the case of tests carried out in any of our laboratories, there is the possibility of consultation and independent description by a specialist from another laboratory, through a teleradiology system which connects all laboratories by means of a secure, encrypted computer network, allowing all authorised persons access to the tests. Independent consultation, or reconsultation, is also possible in the case of external tests done outside our laboratories.
The company is also conducting commercial activity in the form of 60 clinical trials for the pharmaceutical sector, including the following companies: AstraZeneca, Abbott Laboratories, Aventis, Actelion, Amgen, Bayer, Biogen, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bracco, Baxter, Cell Genesis, Cirg, Daiichi Sankyo, Eisai, Icon, Ipsen, Menarini, GlaxoSmithKline, Pierre Fabre, Roche, Supernus, Synarc, and Teva. In addition, we undertake research ordered by suppliers and manufacturers of medical equipment, as well as research and development in partnership with the IT sector and companies involved in building ICT systems, especially RIS, PACS, WEB, and dedicated teleradiology systems.
Pharmaceutical research and research grants
Conducting dozens of clinical trials for the pharmaceutical sector, together with the receipt of scientific grants, enables our scientists to have access to the latest research findings in various clinical stages, to have interdisciplinary contact, and to exchange knowledge with other research teams.
Some of our units are accredited for specialised activities in radiology and diagnostic imaging or selected internships in this field. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the current list of units authorised for specialization in all areas of medicine (as of April 11, 2014).
